Haas F1 driver Kevin Magnussen is set to race in BMW's World Endurance Championship (WEC) program and participate in three endurance rounds of the IMSA SportsCar Championship in 2025. As part of BMW's ambitious LMDh plans, Magnussen will drive the #15 WRT BMW M Hybrid V8, teaming up with Raffaele Marciello and Dries Vanthoor. He replaces Marco Wittmann, who transitions to BMW's IMSA LMDh program. Magnussen brings a wealth of sportscar racing experience. During the 2021 IMSA season, he raced a Chip Ganassi Racing-run Cadillac DPi-V.R, securing victory in Detroit alongside Renger van der Zande. He also competed in the LMP2 class at the 2021 Le Mans 24 Hours and made an appearance in the 2022 Gulf 12 Hours, driving a Ferrari 488 GT3. In 2025, BMW will continue its IMSA Sportscar Championship campaign with RLL in its third season. Dual-duty drivers Sheldon van der Linde and Dries Vanthoor will split their commitments between WEC and IMSA. Vanthoor pairs with Philipp Eng in the #24 BMW, while van der Linde joins Marco Wittmann in the #25 car.

Andreas Roos (Head of BMW M Motorsport): “Kevin Magnussen is an outstanding addition to our LMDh programme. He has regularly demonstrated his speed at the highest level in Formula 1 over the past decade. Thanks to his extensive experience, he is a true asset to our project. His previous full season with a sports car prototype in 2021 is another advantage for us, as it will surely ease his acclimatisation to the BMW M Hybrid V8. I am very delighted that Kevin Magnussen is part of the BMW M Motorsport family now.”

Kevin Magnussen: “I am happy and proud to represent such an iconic motorsport brand as BMW in some of the world's most legendary races. After ten years in Formula 1, I am embarking on a new and exciting chapter, and I look forward to taking on the challenge in the most innovative and advanced sports cars in the history of endurance racing. A huge thank you to BMW M Motorsport for this fantastic opportunity. I can hardly wait to start the preparations and look forward to kicking off the 2025 season with the rest of the team.”

British driver Nick Yelloly who raced with RLL BMW in the IMSA SportsCar Championship for the past two seasons has departed the team to join Meyer Shank Racing's Acura LMDh program. Yelloly will team up with endurance racing veteran Renger van der Zande for the 2025 season.

Yelloly’s transition to Meyer Shank Racing marks a significant shift in both BMW’s and Acura’s endurance racing strategies as preparations for the highly competitive 2025 season intensify.
