Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber will step out on the Bahrain track in style this time as it will be the 200th Grand Prix race for the Australian. Team boss Christian Horner congratulated 36-year old Webber and has even compared him to the seemingly ageless Manchester United football player Ryan Giggs. He said that “because they kept themselves in shape and applied themselves it doesn’t look as if they’ve aged.”
Even teammate and rival Sebastian Vettel congratulated Webber on this achievement. This weekend, Webber will join Ferrari's Fernando Alonso and McLaren's Jenson Button as the only current drivers on the circuit with at least 200 grand prix races to their names.
There were talks of him leaving Red Bull next season as he had signed a five-year deal with Porsche to race in the world endurance championship. But Webber brushed off that talk and said he wanted to concentrate on the race to come as he wanted to make his 200th appearance in F1 count.
This is what he has achieved so far :-
Races: 199
Wins: 9
Poles: 11
Podiums: 35
