Aston Martin announced a more extensive list of factory drivers for its Hypercar, GT3, and GT4 sportscars, demonstrating its renewed dedication to international racing. In 2024, Aston Martin Racing will be represented by nine drivers in the endurance racing world. Marco Sorensen, who has won the FIA World Endurance GT Championship three times, is at the head of this exclusive club. The 33-year-old Dane, who won the 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMGTE Am class with TF Sport, has signed a multi-year pact that further strengthens his allegiance to the British luxury car Brand.
Mattia Drudi, David Pittard, and Henrique Chaves are the newest members of the esteemed lineup for 2024. They are joined by the veterans Darren Turner, Nicki Thiim, Jonny Adam, Ross Gunn, Valentin Hasse-Clot, and the aforementioned Sorensen. The company's commitment to motorsports is demonstrated by Aston Martin's deliberate efforts to strengthen its position in a number of racing categories.

Sorensen said: “I feel like I am in the prime of my career, and that I have a lot to bring to a works manufacturer programme. So, to be able to commit to Aston Martin, which feels like my family after eight years of racing, at a time when it is developing so many new platforms and investing considerable energy into its racing programmes, is perfect for me. I’ve been with Aston Martin for a long time, and we’ve had a great deal of success together.”
After twelve seasons with Aston Martin, 34-year-old Nicki Thiim is about to start his thirteenth straight season. Notably, he won two FIA WEC GTE Pro titles in 2016 and 2019/20 while partnered with his countryman Sørensen. Joining forces with the Magnus Racing squad, Thiim achieved his most recent success with Aston Martin in the GTD class at this year's Rolex 24 at Daytona. “It’s always an honour to represent Aston Martin. I’m looking forward to being able to fight for championships again at the top level of GT racing with Vantage. There is still so much to win and still so much history to be made, I’m sure of that.”
New Drivers in Aston Martin
There are three exciting newcomers to the 2024 Aston Martin works driver lineup. Mattia Drudi, a 25-year-old former factory driver for Audi, is making the jump to Aston Martin. Drudi was the defending champion of the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup. On the other hand, David Pittard (31), who won this year's 24 Hours of Nürburgring, and Henrique Chaves (26), who won the LMGTE Am class at the 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans have also joined the British brand.
Adam Carter, Aston Martin Head of Endurance, said: “As we prepare to embark on a new era for Aston Martin in endurance racing, with the advent of newly developed evolutions of our Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and GT4 platforms, and of course the Valkyrie Hypercar programme that becomes a racing entity in 2025, we’ve assembled an ultra-competitive works driver line-up.
"This group of drivers knows how to win and is expert at extracting every ounce of performance from a GT car, while at the same time harnessing the endurance capabilities necessary to win at this level. We’re delighted to welcome three proven champions in Mattia, Henrique and David to this group, and we’re excited to see what they can all achieve in 2024 and beyond. As we move into a period of accelerated learning and development with our various racing platforms, this blend of pace and experience will be vital to achieving Aston Martin’s goal of maintaining our status as a force to be reckoned with among our peers at the top of world endurance competition.”
At 39 years old, Jonny Adam is about to embark on his fourteenth season with Aston Martin, solidifying his position as one of the most successful GT drivers for the brand. Adam showcased his racing prowess by winning the British GT championship four times, adding to his impressive record. On the global stage, he has won the renowned 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2017 (in the LMGTE Pro class) and 2020 (in the LMGTE Am class), further establishing himself as one of the most successful and long-lasting drivers for Aston Martin.
