Comfort zone

Saying good bye can be one of the hardest things as it’s time for us to return one of our trusty long termers – Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, after a span of nine long months. The S-Cross’ passive exterior design went against it, but to be fair, this vehicle offers a lot more, although you have to be patient enough to scratch the surface. It may have a docile looking front grille, but the HID projector lamps with LED strip provide excellent illumination. The S-Cross’ trump card is its cabin comfort and quality.

Logbook

Once you step inside, you realise how the all black interiors have been cleverly designed as Maruti Suzuki has added soft plastic touches on the top half of the dashboard. The infotainment system touchscreen is simple to use and one can easily sync their smart phone without ever needing to second guess its functions. The front seats are very comfortable, however, the rear seats provide limited back and thigh support, which make it uncomfortable on long drives.

The 1.6 DDiS 320 118bhp diesel engine has plenty of power and torque, but the turbo lag is a kill joy as it deprives the powerplant from instant throttle response. Once the rpm needle crosses the 1,800rpm mark, the 1.6-litre engine comes to life. To sum it up, the S-Cross is all about comfort and we will surely miss all the pampering.
