Warm Welcome
We have test driven the all-new DZire extensively and have been very impressed with the car. The improvements to the new best-selling compact sedan are stellar and I am very happy that Maruti Suzuki has graced us with a long term vehicle. The new exterior design is quite nice, and over time I have really begun to appreciate its contemporary design.
So far I have been driving the new DZire for a few weeks and it has one of the most comfortable and spacious cabins I have seen in a compact sedan. The new interior design is really good and the overall quality is nice – almost at a premium level. The driver seat is very comfortable and there is more than enough leg room and head room, even for someone of my size. You also get a good view of the road ahead as the windshield is nice and big and the hood is short. The rear space is also fabulous and five adults can comfortably fit in the car. The rear AC vents are also good, and speaking of the air-conditioning, it has been performing marvelously in this crazy Delhi heat. I have the top of the line diesel variant, so the car comes stacked with some great features including the awesome infotainment system and touchscreen.
The engine is the same tried and tested diesel unit that has been in the Dzire since it was first introduced. There have been some adjustments to improve fuel efficiency and so far it has proved to be very efficient. The initial acceleration does have some lag and you don’t really get to feel the engine work until it crosses 2,100rpm, but once it does the car pulls forward quite nicely. The manual transmission is also nice and feels smooth. What I really like though is the overall ride quality. The suspension setup together with the smooth engine really offers you a comfortable and pliant ride in the city. Another feature that I really like are the LED headlights that illuminate the road very nicely.
The car we have is almost brand new and it drives like it is, so I definitely see myself going on some long road trips with the DZire. Until then, stay tuned.
