Let me start by saying that the Raida AirWave gloves are perhaps the most good-looking ones in their price bracket. In case you desire a pair that looks smart and offers good protection at the same time, these gloves should be an easy pick. The gloves have been made with good quality material and look very smart too. It is mostly black in colour except for the red strip that runs across three of the fingers, making it look cool. The palm area also has red stitching but that will mostly be hidden. Apart from red, there are two other colour options - Hi-Viz and White. I did, however, notice some threads popping out after a bit of use.

For extra functionality, Raida has also equipped these gloves with a touchscreen-compatible material on the tip of the index finger. So, you will not have to take the gloves off in case you want to have a quick look at the maps on your phone or check who called you. Another small but smart addition is a rubber wiper on the side of the left index finger. This can come in handy while trying to wipe your helmet visor while riding in the rain.

As for safety, the AirWave gets thermo plastic rubber (TPR) protectors on the fingers, knuckles and wrist. These provide a good balance of flexibility and safety. It even gets a solid Knox protector on the palm to reduce impact in case of a fall. The gloves have a mix of leather and mesh which provides decent ventilation on those summer rides. I had asked for a size L pair for myself and found that they do not fit my skinny hands as well as some others. The thumbs especially have a lot of room while the rest of the fingers reach the end of the tips. Even the wrist strap has a little bit of extra room. I would definitely consider getting a smaller size if you have thin hands like mine.

Altogether, I would say, for a price of Rs 3,350, you are getting a solid pair of gloves that look great and are high on safety. Just make sure that you get the right fit for yourself and you will be sorted for your long and short trips.
