At a very special ceremony at the Misano Adriatico, the legendary Italian bike maker, Aprilia, introduced the brand new RSV4 and the Tuono 1100 Factory e RR to the international press and customers. Aprilia's WSBK riders Leon Haslam and Jordi Torres, made a stop at the Misano World Circuit to christen the brand new V4 street bikes from Noale. There is a reason that Aprila chose this track for the launch of the bike, and that's because the RSV4 has taken 4 wins and 4 podiums here in the last five seasons.
The new Aprilia RSV4 looks fantastic and it promises to perform unlike ever before. The new bike represents the most important and profound evolution ever achieved on this extraordinary model. Aprilia has made the main goals of the new V4 project very clear - the bike needs to increase power across the board, exceeding the threshold of 200bhp maximum peak and at the same time increase the already generous torque at all engine speeds. And that is exactly what has happened with the new RSV4 RR and the high-end RSVF RF.
The details matter the most, and the new Aprilia RSV4 is now the only Superbike that allows the rider to adjust the engine position in the frame, the headstock angle, the swingarm pivot and the rear-end height, naturally in addition to the fully adjustable suspension. Then there is the Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) system. This well-known control systems package derived directly from the winning technology in the World Superbike championship, is the most complete of its kind available on the market today. The bike also gets the advanced and safe Race ABS system that can be set to 3 different settings. To distinguish the RF from the RR model there are parts such as the Öhlins suspension, forged aluminium wheels and a dedicated livery. And to complete the racing approach of this extraordinary bike, the rider has the option of connecting his or her smartphone to the vehicle through the Aprilia V4-MP platform.
The other bike that was launched is the new Tuono V4 1100. This bike is an exclusive excitement and fun generator in its purest state. It gets a new 175bhp engine, with an increased capacity from 1,000 up to 1,100 cc, and with a powerful maximum torque of 121Nm. The chassis has also been revamped with a new setup to achieve better agility, and then of course it gets a fine tuned APRC, a new look, and the possibility of connecting your smartphone to the bike through the V4-MP platform. The Tuono V4 1100 will also come in two distinctly outfitted versions - Factory and RR - that have the same, strictly Aprilia character in common.
Both bikes will be available in the US and Europe next month, and they will certainly carry a very high price tag.
