Mahindra XUV 3XO Gets 5-star Crash Test Safety Rating from Bharat NCAP: Watch
The Mahindra XUV 3XO received 29.36 points out of 32 in adult occupant protection (AOP), where the driver's chest was adequately protected in the event of an offset frontal impact with a deformable barrier.
The Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP), introduced in October 2023 by the government of India, conducts crash tests to evaluate the safety of vehicles in the event of an accident or harm, and award stars based on their performance. A 5-star crash test safety rating, like the one recently awarded to the Mahindra XUV 3XO (or the XUV300 facelift), points to the highest possible score. According to a video dropped on BNCAP's YouTube channel, the Mahindra XUV 3XO – launched nearly seven months ago – was able to achieve the highest safety ratings for both adult and child occupant protection. The rating is for the AX7 L and MX2 variants of the XUV 3XO. Let's take a closer look at the results of the XUV 3XO:
Mahindra XUV 3XO Adult Occupant Protection Results
The Mahindra XUV 3XO received 29.36 points out of 32 in adult occupant protection (AOP), where the driver's chest was adequately protected in the event of an offset frontal impact with a deformable barrier. However, protection for the co-driver's chest was 'good'. The testers further noted that although the co-driver's feet received good protection, adequate to marginal protection was given to the driver's legs.

While the XUV 3XO scored 13.36 out of 16 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier test, it secured 16 out of 16 in the second part of AOP, which is the side moveable deformable barrier test. The protection given to the driver's head, chest and abdomen was good.
Mahindra XUV 3XO Child Occupant Protection Results
As far as child occupant protection (COP) is concerned, the Mahindra XUV 3XO got 43 out of a total of 49 points. It earned an impressive 24 out of 24 points in the dynamic test, 12 out of 12 points in the CRS installation score, and 7 out of 13 in the vehicle assessment.
Mahindra XUV 3XO: Safety Equipment
The vehicle tested was equipped with safety features such as 8 airbags (standard), ISOFIX child mounts, and safety assist technologies including seatbelt reminders. It missed out on airbags for the side head and knees.

Alongside the XUV 3XO, BNCAP also tested the XUV400 and the Thar Roxx, which gained five stars for their performance. The former offers two frontal airbags as standard, while the latter gets 8 as standard.
