Mahindra XEV 9e with Triple-screen Setup Launched at Rs 21.90 Lakh in India

Mahindra has launched the much-anticipated XEV 9e electric SUV in India alongside another exciting offering the BE 6e. The former is priced at Rs 21.90 lakh while the latter costs Rs 18.90 lakh. Both mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures. The XEV 9e will be available in three variants: Pack 1, Pack 2, and Pack 3. It is important to note that the price revealed is for the Pack 1 variant. The colour options include: Desert Myst, Tango Red, and Everest White. The new electric SUVs are set to hit the market in January 2025, with deliveries expected to begin between February and March of the same year.
Designed to meet the growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles, the XUV 9e features a robust electric drivetrain, fast charging support, and smart connectivity options. The SUV is positioned to appeal to both urban drivers and those seeking long-distance capability. This launch represents a key step in the company’s strategy to promote environmentally conscious transportation solutions.
Mahindra XEV 9e: Platform
Mahindra's innovative INGLO platform serves as the foundation for the XEV 9e and the BE 6e. It emphasises enhanced performance, efficiency, and safety, incorporating advanced battery technology to deliver a longer range and faster charging. It is equipped to support features such as driver assistance systems and over-the-air updates, aiming to improve the overall driving experience.

According to the brand, the platform is specifically designed for electric vehicles, setting it apart from platforms adapted from internal combustion engine designs. A notable feature is its flat-floored layout, which enhances stability by lowering the vehicle's center of gravity. This design also maximises interior space, eliminates the central tunnel, and improves seating flexibility, offering greater overall comfort for passengers.
Mahindra XEV 9e: Battery
The XUV 9e is powered by a 59kWh battery paired with an electric motor that delivers 228bhp and 380Nm. On a full charge, it provides a range of 656km. A larger 79kWh option is expected later.
With a 140kW DC fast charger, the battery can be replenished from 20-80% in just 20 minutes. It can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 6.8 seconds.
Mahindra XEV 9e: Design
The mid-size electric SUV adorns a sleek, coupe-inspired aesthetic. Its front end features a bold look, highlighted by seamless LED DRLs shaped like inverted Ls, vertically stacked LED headlights, and a closed-off grille. There is an illuminated Mahindra ‘Infinity’ logo as well. The bumpers maintain a clean, sporty appearance. Moving on to the side profile, you can notice its coupe character with a sloping roofline, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and premium flush-fitting door handles that enhance its streamlined look.
At the rear, the sloping roof blends effortlessly into the tailgate, complemented by a shark fin antenna and a subtle roof spoiler that enhances its sporty appeal. The rear lighting includes connected LED tail lamps.
Mahindra XEV 9e: Interior and Features
The interior is designed with a simple, modern approach, showcasing a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Infinity logo and a layered dashboard. The centre console includes controls for the driving modes, the gear shift, two cupholders, and wireless phone charging pads. This console design extends seamlessly to the front armrest, creating a streamlined, integrated look. The car houses a triple-screen setup on the dashboard, including separate displays for the driver, the touchscreen, and the passenger.
The feature suite of the e-SUV comprises a panoramic glass roof, multi-coloured ambient lighting, cruise control, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, powered and ventilated seats, Harman-Kardon-sourced 16-speaker music system, Android Auto and Apple Carplay, an entertainment screen, dual-zone climate control, and a 10.25-inch digital driver display.

As far as safety quotient is concerned, the XEV 9e offers front and rear parking sensors, electronic parking brake (EPB), six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), auto park, level-2 ADAS, and a 360-degree camera.
