BMW iX Facelift Globally Debuts with Styling and Performance Updates

BMW has revealed the facelifted iX for the global market, with updated styling and improved performance. Design-wise, the iX facelift boasts a subtle yet striking improvement. The new headlamps have vertical LED daytime running lights, while the signature closed-off grille includes updated graphics. The redesigned bumper boosts road presence, complemented by fresh alloy wheels and revised rear taillamps, giving the SUV a more refined and polished look. The production of the SUV will commence in March 2025 at the brand’s Dingolfing plant in Germany, with the launch scheduled for spring. BMW has updated the naming structure for the iX facelift variants. Customers can choose from three distinct trims: the xDrive45, xDrive60, and the powerful M70 xDrive. Each variant offers optional M Sport packages, while the M70 comes with an exclusive M Sport Pro trim for a more dynamic driving experience. BMW iX Facelift: Interior and Features
Inside, the all-new iX ensures passenger comfort with the introduction of new M Multi-Function seats, featuring advanced adjustments like lumbar support, backrest width adjustment, and active ventilation. These seats are standard on the M70 and available as an option for the xDrive45 and xDrive60. Moreover, they offer a choice between a range of high-quality materials.
The steering wheel gets a new round three-spoke look, and the digital instrument cluster and central touchscreen now run on iDrive 8.5.

The iX facelift comes packed with top features, including heated seats for both the driver and front passenger and a Harman Kardon surround sound system. For those looking to elevate their experience, optional upgrades are available like automatic soft-close doors, a panoramic glass roof, a high-end Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system, and active seat ventilation.
BMW iX Facelift: Powertrain
The iX facelift's standout improvement is its powertrain. The dual-motor AWD configuration is available across all variants (xDrive45, xDrive60, M70). The xDrive45 now comes with a 94.8kWh battery, delivering 396.5bhp and 700Nm, an increase of 80bhp and 70Nm. The xDrive60 has a larger 109.1kWh battery, producing 529bhp and 765Nm, up by 13bhp.

The M70 variant, on the other hand, offers a 108.9kWh battery, generating 650bhp and up to 1,100Nm (with launch control), 49hp more than before. The range is impressive, with the xDrive60 offering 701 kilometres, the xDrive45 achieving 602 kilometres, and the M70 reaching 600 kilometres.
BMW iX Facelift: Expected India Launch Timeline
While there’s no official confirmation yet, the facelifted iX is expected to make its way to India following its global launch. Currently, the iX is available in India only in the xDrive 50 variant, priced at Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
