Renault Kiger Facelift Spied Testing in India; Shows Updated Taillights, Redesigned Bumpers and More
The Renault Kiger facelift is expected to have an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 6.50 lakh. In terms of its launch timeline, the updated model is set to debut by Q3 2025.

Renault has commenced road testing for the updated Kiger. A heavily camouflaged prototype was recently spotted, confirming that the facelift is in development. Underpinned by the CMF-A+ platform – an upgraded version of the Renault Kwid’s CMF-A architecture – the Kiger is mechanically linked to the Nissan Magnite. With Nissan having introduced a facelifted Magnite in October 2024, Renault is now preparing to refresh its compact SUV. Based on the latest spy shots, the Kiger facelift is expected to feature design updates, primarily focused on exterior styling. The revised model will likely have an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 6.50 lakh. As for the launch timeline, the Kiger facelift is slated to debut by Q3 2025. Here’s a closer look at the key details.
New Renault Kiger Spotted: Highlights

Spy images hint at a significant design refresh for the Renault Kiger facelift, particularly at the front. Expected upgrades include slim, horizontally aligned LED DRLs, a newly styled radiator grille, and a reshaped front bumper, giving the SUV a more aggressive stance. Additionally, a shark-fin antenna is likely to be added for a sleeker look. Moving on to the side profile, the updated Kiger is expected to sport redesigned 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, contributing to a more dynamic look.

At the rear, the facelifted model may feature clear-lens LED taillights, a reworked rear bumper, and a roof-mounted spoiler for a sportier appearance. Other notable additions could include a rear wiper and washer, a relocated number plate section integrated into the bumper, and a new logo, further refining its overall aesthetic.
New Renault Kiger: Expected Powertrain and Features
The soon-to-be-launched Kiger is likely to continue with its existing engine options. It will be powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine, offered in both naturally aspirated (NA) and turbocharged versions.
The NA variant belts out 72bhp and 96Nm of torque, with transmission choices including a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The turbocharged version, on the other hand, generates 100bhp of maximum power and 152Nm of peak torque, which increases to 160Nm when paired with a CVT. Customers can opt for either a five-speed manual or a CVT transmission with the turbocharged model.
The interior changes remain unknown, as the cabin of the test mule was not visible, and Renault has yet to confirm any modifications. However, the updated model is expected to retain most of the existing amenities, including a push-button start, rear AC vents, automatic climate control, keyless entry, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, adjustable headrests, and front and rear armrests.
Renault Models Get CNG Option
Renault has recently introduced government-approved CNG retrofit kits for its PV lineup, comprising the Kwid, Triber, and the Kiger. These kits, backed by a 3-year warranty, are priced at Rs 75,000 for the Kwid and Rs 79,500 for both the Triber and Kiger. However, the CNG option is exclusively available for manual transmission variants, as AMT-equipped models are not compatible with this fuel type. Additionally, the power and torque outputs of the CNG variants are expected to be slightly lower than their petrol-powered counterparts.

The rollout will be implemented in phases, starting with five major states – Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, and Maharashtra – which collectively represent 65 per cent of the market. Renault also plans to expand availability nationwide shortly.
