New Lexus ES Sedan: Design Cues
The Japanese carmaker has released early visuals of its next-gen ES sedan, showcasing a striking evolution in design that sets it apart from the outgoing version. The revamped exterior draws heavily from the brand’s recent concept portfolio, embracing a futuristic and minimalist look.

The front fascia features sharply contoured lighting units integrated with DRLs reminiscent of those on the RX, whereas the contrasting black elements beneath the lights add a bold touch – influenced by the LF-ZC concept’s design language. Interestingly, the absence of a traditional front grille and the inclusion of a charging socket on the front fender strongly indicate the model's electrified underpinnings.

The side profile reveals a coupe-like form with a more dramatic roofline that flows downward from the C-pillar, enhancing the car’s aerodynamic stance. At the rear, a seamless LED light strip spans the width, complemented by stylized chrome inserts on the lower bumper. Completing the elegant look are freshly designed multi-spoke alloy wheels, adding visual sophistication.
New Lexus ES Sedan: Mechanical Details
The Lexus ES currently spans 15 variants, offering a diverse selection of drivetrains, including a four-cylinder, a V6, and a hybrid system. The lineup delivers outputs ranging from 203bhp in the base engine to 302bhp in the V6, while the hybrid variant achieves a combined 215bhp.
Looking ahead, Lexus has offered an early glimpse into the future of the ES through a teaser announcement, signalling a pivot toward greater electrification. The next generation is expected to lean heavily on hybrid technology as part of a broader strategy to modernise the model.
Along with this shift, the company is promising refinements to two key pillars of the ES experience: enhanced ride comfort and improved cabin serenity. Full technical specifications will be shared at its global premiere during Auto Shanghai 2025.
Lexus is expected to launch this redesigned ES in China ahead of a broader international rollout. The current-gen model, introduced in 2018 and periodically updated, has enjoyed strong sales in several regions, including India, making it likely that the new version will be headed here in the near future.
