Mahindra Marazzo BS6 launched at Rs 11.25 lakh
Mahindra has launched the updated BS6 Marazzo, with prices starting from ₹11.25 lakh. In its BS6 guise, the Marazzo is available only in three trims – the old M2 and the new M4+ (₹12.37 lakh) & M6+ (₹13.51 lakh) trims.
The BS6 Mahindra Marazzo gets a new and more streamlined variant line-up. Plus, all variants are available as both 7- and 8-seater versions.
After a fairly long wait, Mahindra has launched the updated BS6 Marazzo, with prices starting from ₹11.25 lakh. In its BS6 guise, the Marazzo is available only in three trims – the old M2 and the new M4+ (₹12.37 lakh) & M6+ (₹13.51 lakh) trims. The earlier M4, M6 and top-spec M8 trims have been discontinued. As mentioned above, the new trims are being offered as 7-seater (individual captain seats in middle row) and 8-seater versions (bench seat in the second row). The 8-seater versions, of course, are priced slightly higher than the 7-seater variants.
In comparison, the BS4 Marazzo range, as of February 2020, was priced between ₹10 lakh & ₹14.77 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. So, the BS6 update has made the entry-spec Marazzo fairly expensive but the new variant line-up now ends at a relatively lower price point. This, coupled with its 5-Year/1,00,000km standard warrant, should help the Marazzo gain more popularity in its segment.
The engine on the BS6 Marazzo is the same as before but the D15 1.5-litre (1,497cc) four-cylinder diesel unit now comes with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) exhaust gas treatment system, that works with an AdBlue tank & injection system. In its BS6 form, the motor develops a slightly higher 121bhp and the same 300Nm of torque. A six-speed manual transmission continues to be the sole gearbox option, although rumours suggest that Mahindra is working on a petrol version and an automatic option for the Marazzo.
The new top-spec trim, M6+, offers features like a rear parking camera (with guiding lines), 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, auto climate control, cornering fog lamps, etc. However, with the old M8 trim gone, certain premium features like a cooled glovebox, leatherette upholstery, cruise control & power-fold ORVMs are no longer available with the Marazzo.
