At EICMA 2024, BMW revealed the F 450 GS concept, previewing its upcoming small-capacity adventure motorcycle. It will join BMW’s GS lineup, enhancing its offerings in the adventure motorcycle segment. Designed for the A2 license category in global markets, the production version of the F 450 GS concept will position itself between the G 310 GS and the F 800/900 series and is expected to launch in 2025. It aims to provide riders with a versatile and capable machine for tackling various terrains. With the concept bike, BMW gives a clear idea of its plans for the future of off-road motorcycling, with a production model that promises to deliver a balanced mix of performance and practicality for adventure enthusiasts.

BMW F 450 GS Concept: Design
The F 450 GS concept draws significant styling cues from BMW's larger models, with a quad-element LED DRL at the front. The semi-fairing, tall windscreen and integrated beak contribute to its production-ready appearance.
Notable design features include the BMW Classic White, Blue, and Red paint job, a rear luggage rack, knuckle guards, a rally-inspired single-piece seat, and an Akrapovic exhaust.
BMW F 450 GS Concept: Engine Specs
The F 450 GS is propelled by a new parallel-twin engine, developed from the ground up, producing the full 47bhp required for the A2 licence class. BMW Motorrad highlights that the engine features a unique ignition offset, giving it a distinctive character and enhancing responsiveness. To keep the engine compact and light, the bikemaker has incorporated materials like magnesium, ensuring reduced weight without compromising performance.

BMW Motorrad is introducing several advanced features, including lean-angle dependent ABS Pro, a performance braking system, and adjustable riding modes. The concept bike also comes with BMW Connectivity, offering a 6.5-inch TFT screen and smartphone pairing. These features are likely to be part of the final production model as well.

BMW F 450 GS Concept: Chassis
The F 450 GS features a completely new chassis, designed with an emphasis on off-road capability and agility. Weighing around 175 kg, it comes with a fully adjustable golden USD front fork and a rear mono-shock with load-dependent damping. The concept bike is fitted with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cross-spoke wheels, paired with off-road-focused tyres. However, BMW may offer cast aluminum wheels as an option for the production model.
