The Aprilia Tuareg 660 shares the 659 cc parallel-twin engine with the RS 660 and Tuono 660, offering around 79 bhp and 70 Nm in the ADV version.
Aprilia, fresh from the launch of the RS 457, is now gearing up for another exhilarating motorcycle debut in India. The highly anticipated Tuareg 660 has finally made its appearance on the Aprilia website in India, offering enthusiasts a glimpse into its impressive specifications and features. However, the exact launch timeline has yet to be disclosed. The Italian manufacturer is poised to launch its premium motorcycle lineup in India, beginning with the RS 457, thanks to its growing international acclaim, especially in India where it has gained popularity through events like MotoGP Bharat.
Aprilia Tuareg 660: Design and Features
The Tuareg features a unique design with a single headlight unit placed behind a large windscreen, giving the bike a simple front appearance. The absence of a conventional beak enhances the tough appearance of the motorcycle, which is further emphasised by the inclusion of a sump guard, knuckle guards, and an exhaust system situated at a high position.
The motorbike provides users with access to four separate riding modes, switchable ABS, and traction control, through its multitude of features and electrical systems. In addition, it is fitted with APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control), a comprehensive set of rider-assist electronics. The device features a vibrant, high-resolution TFT screen that closely resembles a 5-inch display. This screen allows for easy and intuitive access to important information.
The Tuareg's design is characterised by a captivating dirt bike influence, highlighted by a unique, boomerang-shaped seat and a high, upwardly curved exhaust. Boasting a dry weight of 187 kg and an ample fuel tank capacity of 18 litres, this motorcycle achieves an ideal balance between nimbleness and long-lasting performance on the road.
Aprilia Tuareg 660: Engine
The Aprilia Tuareg 660 use the same 659 cc parallel-twin engine as in the RS 660 and Tuono 660 models. However, the ADV variant, it provides roughly 79bhp and 70Nm of torque, while in the Tuono, it features nearly 100bhp and 67 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission, providing strong and powerful performance. Additionally, there is an option to include a quick-shifter as an extra feature.
The Tuareg 660 utilises a 43 mm Kayaba USD fork for the front suspension and a fully adjustable Kayaba monoshock for the rear suspension. Equipped with a substantial 240 mm of travel on both the front and rear, this vehicle is well-prepared to navigate a variety of terrains. The motorcycle features a 21-inch spoked wheel in the front and an 18-inch spoked wheel in the back, which provides a harmonious combination of agility and stability.
The Tuareg 660 is designed for riders who want a higher seat height, measuring just over 860 mm. This makes it perfect for both off-road journeys and long-distance touring, as it provides a dominating riding position.
