2025 BMW M2 Unveiled

The 2025 BMW M2 has arrived, and it marks the two-door M car's first major overhaul since the model's debut in 2023. The key highlight of the M2's lifecycle update is more power. The modifications are similar to those made to other recently released BMW Motorsports vehicles, such as the 2025 M3 and M4. With an additional 20bhp power, fresh paint jobs, and an improved infotainment system, the revamped BMW model will go on sale later this year.

The luxury carmaker has announced that Sao Paulo Yellow, Vegas Red metallic, Skyscraper Grey metallic, and Portimao Blue metallic will be among the new paint options available for the 2025 model. Through its customisation programme, BMW is also providing four new eye-catching colour options: Twilight Purple Pearl Effect Metallic, Grigio Telesto Pearl Effect Metallic, Java Green Metallic, and Voodoo Blue. Apart from this, the 2025 models will come with an option of wheels finished in bright silver. Additional design modifications comprise standard black tailpipes and black badges outlined in silver.

2025 BMW M2: Powertrain Details

A 3.0 litre twin-turbocharged inline-six-cylinder S58 engine powers the 2025 M2, which now churns out 600Nm of torque between 2,650 and 6,130rpm and 473bhp at 6,250rpm. For transmission, both an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a six-speed manual gearbox are available as options. Power is still only sent to the rear wheels. In addition, the accelerator mapping has been adjusted for faster reactions. The 0 – 100km/h dash now takes 4.0 seconds, which is 0.1 seconds faster than before, while the version with a six-speed manual gearbox accomplishes the same sprint in 4.2 seconds.

The acceleration time from 0 to 200km/h has also been reduced by 0.6 seconds for both automatic and manual gearbox variants, at 12.9 and 13.7 seconds, respectively. The G87 M2's electronically limited top speed of 250km/h can be increased to 285km/h by purchasing the optional M Driver's Package.

The BMW steering wheel now has new spokes, a rim that is flat on the bottom, and a red centre marker located at twelve o'clock. Alcantara and heating options are also available, but the leather wrapping on the steering wheel is standard. The standard leather seats can now be had in black colour with red accents. Meanwhile, the M Carbon bucket seats are now offered as an option. Earlier, to get those seats, one had to opt for the carbon package worth USD 9,900 (about Rs 8.27 lakh).

The curved panel on the dashboard, which houses a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen, runs the most recent version of BMW's operating system. Digital controls, which also support voice commands, are now used for controlling temperature. To further minimise the number of buttons, the dashboard has been redesigned.

The 2025 M2 will be produced at BMW's factory in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, beginning in August. The base price of the M2 increases marginally to USD 66,075 (around Rs 55.21 lakh) from USD 64,195 (approximately Rs 53.64 lakh) for the 2024 model year.
