The Chevrolet Essentia compact sedan has been caught testing on Indian roads with lesser camouflage than before.
At the 2016 Auto Expo, General Motors showcased the Chevrolet Essentia which they announced that it will go it into production in 2017. The Essentia is based on the platform of the Chevrolet Beat small hatchback due to which it is expected to compete with the brand new Tata Tigor.
While the launch of the Essentia is expected in the second or third quarter of 2017, General Motors has been spied testing the Essentia on Indian roads again by @adityan who informed us - via social media.
The Chevrolet Essentia will be powered by the same engines as the next generation Chevrolet Beat. A 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine which develops 76bhp and 106Nm of torque. The 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo diesel engine will also be offered which develops 56bhp and 142Nm of torque. Both engines will come with a 5-speed manual transmission, however an automatic gearbox may also be offered.
