Nissan launches two limited edition models and confirms two new model launches for 2016

Nissan has recently signed at eight year agreement with the ICC to sponsor worldwide tournaments. This includes the ICC Cricket World Cup, ICC Champions Trophy and the ICC World Twenty20 and more. Along these lines Nissan has launched two cricket themed limited edition models at the 2016 Auto Expo. One is the Micra Active limited edition and the other one being the Terrano limited edition.

On a more mainstream level, Nissan has announced that the company will be launching the hybrid version of the new Nissan Xtrail in India during 2016. This will mark the comeback of the Xtrail model for India at a time when the SUV and Crossover segments are doing better than when the first Xtrail was in sale in India. The new Nissan Xtrail is a contemporary looking vehicle that comes packed with features to pamper its occupants. The Nissan Xtrail hybrid will be powered by a 2.0 litre petrol engine developing 144bhp of max power and 207Nm of peak torque. An electric motor also present provides an additional 40bhp of power and 160Nm of torque. Regenerative braking and a lithium ion battery pack also constitute the hybrid system.

The other big launch for Nissan India in 2016 will be that of the popular GT-R performance car that is known for its blisteringly quick performance and practical nature, making it one of the most desirable performance cars of the time. Nissan aims to target enthusiasts and performance car freaks in India with the launch of its halo model later in the year.  The Nissan GT-R is powered by a twin turbocharged 3.8 litre V6 petrol engine mated to a six-speed double clutch automatic gearbox. Maximum power and torque outputs are rated at 545bhp and 627Nm, respectively.
