Maruti Suzuki has taken the wraps off its new super compact SUV concept at the 2018 Auto Expo. Named the Concept Future S for now, this new SUV concept is targeted at the likes of the Mahindra KUV100. Naturally, if and when the Maruti Concept Future S sees the light of day, it will be a sub 4-meter concept that will fit in below the Vitara Brezza. It will be built on a tighter budget to keep costs in check. Expect it to be priced between Rs 4.90 lakh and Rs 7.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Concept Future S will add to Maruti Suzuki’s already lengthy product portfolio within that price bracket. This will be its first SUV model capable of generating more than enough interest in the car.
While there is no word on powertrain options, expect it to be powered by the company’s 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine and the fiat sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine, if it ever sees the light of day. Gearbox options of course will be a five-speed manual and AMT.
Other pictures of the Concept Future S denote a spacious cabin and a minimalistic cabin design that incorporates all controls around the centre console.
