Lamborghini has unveiled the top open-top version of its Huracan sportscar at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany.
The Huracan Spyder is powered by the same 5.2-Litre V10 engine as found in the Coupe. It produces 610 bhp - enough to propel the car from 0 to 100km/hr in just 3.4 seconds, before topping up at 324km/hr.
"The Huracan LP610-4 Spyder is the next chapter in the success story of the naturally aspirated V10 Huracan, and continues a Lamborghini tradition of open air motoring," says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. "The Huracan Spyder combines the innovation, performance and appeal of the Huracan coupé, with new technologies and an added emotional dimension. Its predecessor, the Gallardo Spyder, was the best-selling open top model in Lamborghini's history: we expect the Huracan Spyder to exceed its predecessor in every way."
The Huracan Spyder sports a electrohydraulic, lightweight soft top that is available in three colour options: black, brown and red. It opens up within 17 seconds up to a driving speed of 50 km/hr.
Lamborghini’s latest offering will go on sale next year, and will carry a sticker price of €186,450 + taxes (Rs 1.39 crore).
