Hero MotoCorp hints at future models with new and concept model showcases at the 2016 Auto Expo

Hero MotoCorp came fully prepared for the 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida with a fresh range of products that will form a part of its future product line-up. Taking centre stage was the all new Hero Splendor iSmart 110 that is the company’s first motorcycle to be developed completely in-house by Hero’s very own R&D team to carry forward the legacy of the Splendor which is claimed to be the largest selling motorcycle in the world!

The new Hero Splendor iSmart 110 has a completely new engine chassis and frame combining Hero’s intuitive i3S technology to make for a more efficient ride. The motorcycle is powered by an air cooled, 110cc, four stroke engine that develops 8bhp @ 7,500 rpm and 9Nm of torque @ 5,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a four-speed gearbox.

Hero also showcased an upgraded version of the Xtreme in Xtreme 200 S spec today. The motorcycle is powered by a 200cc, four stroke engine developing 18bhp of power @ 8,500rpm and 17.2 Nm of torque @ 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Hero Xtreme 200 S is built on a diamond type chassis and gets monoshock rear suspension, front and rear disc brakes and LED tail lamps. The new Xtreme 200 S is designed to be sporty with air vents in the front cowl, tank shroud and belly pan to provide enhanced cooling to the powertrain.

The Hero XF3R concept that was showcased is the company’s take on a streetfighter motorcycle, it is designed to be a middle weight motorcycle. Expect a lot of design cues among other things to flow from the XF3R concept to flow onto production models in the future.

At the other end of the scale was the Hero Duet-E, which is an electric scooter. Although at a conceptual stage at the moment, the Duet-E (based on the standard Duet model) is aimed to be an affordable electric commuting solution for intercity travel.
