12 racing cars and bikes with glory and some heritage behind them that were displayed at the 13th Auto Expo.
Most manufacturers love to display their championship winning cars at Auto shows around the world. The Auto Expo in Greater Noida is no expiation to that. Every year, car and bike manufacturers display their racing or racing concept vehicles. This year in 2016 everyone from Mercedes, Datsun, Toyota, Yamaha, Mahindra, Honda, almost every company had one of their prized possessions on display.
We have made a list of all the racing cars that were on display at the Expo in 2016 and the driver or rider who competed with it.
Mercedes
Mercedes AMG W04 F1 Car 2013
Lewis Hamilton (England)
Nico Rosberg (Germany)
The W04 is Mercedes AMG’s F1 car from the 2013 season. The car was piloted by Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg who finished 4th and 6th in the overall drivers championship respectively. This chassis was also the one that led the team to 2nd in the constructors title that year.
Honda
2015 McLaren Honda MP4-30 F1 car

The year 2015 marked the return of the iconic pairing of McLaren and Honda. It was the first time since the duo, with its 44 victories to their name, got back together since their separation after the 1992 Formula 1 season. The re-collaboration between the British marquee and the Japanese engine supplier gave birth to the MP4-30 for the 2015 season. Unfortunately, the year wasn't favourable as Jenson Button only managed to finish the season 16th overall and Fernando Alonso finished 17th overall in the championship. McLaren-Honda had to settle with 9th overall in the constructors title.
Honda Two Wheelers
2015 Honda RC213V MotoGP bike
Marc Marquez (Spain)
The Honda RC213V MotoGP bike of Marc Marquez, the championship runner up of the 2015 season of MotoGP 8 victories was also showcased at the Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India pavilion.
Toyota
2014 Toyota TS040 Hybrid LeMans WEC
Anthony Davidson (England)
Sebastian Buemi (France)
Kazuki Nakajima (Japan)
Toyota had their 2014 TS040 Hybrid racing car that competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship where the car won the overall championship in that year in hands of Anthony Davidson and Sebastian Buemi. At LeMans, with Japanese driver, Kazuki Nakajima, this TS040 finished 3rd in the 24 hours of LeMans.
Yamaha
Yamaha YRZ-M1 MotoGP race bike
Valentino Rossi (Italy)
Yamaha also displayed Valentino Rossi’s Yamaha YRZ-M1 MotoGP bike at the Expo. The chassis is from the 2013 season where legendary rider finished 4th overall in the championship. Rossi only had 1 win in Assen to his name that season.
Mahindra
2015-16 Mahindra Racing Spark Renault SRT-01E M2Electro Formula E car

Nick Heidfeld (Germany)
Mahindra, the only Indian manufacturer to be racing in the Formula E championship had their 2015-16 electric racing car on display. The car is from the ongoing season of the Formula E season driven by Bruno Senna who finished 10th in the inaugural championship and newly appointed driver for the season Nick Heidfeld.
Mahindra Moto3 race bike
Miguel Oliviera (Portugal)
Andrea Migno (Italy)
In addition to the Formula E race car, Mahindra also had the Mahindra 250cc Moto3 racing bike of Miguel Oliviera and Andrea Migno.
Suzuki
Suzuki GSX-RR MotoGP Bike
Aleix Espagaró (Spain)
At the Suzuki pavilion, the GSX-RR MotoGP bike of Spanish rider Aleix Espagaró, who finished 11th in the 2015 season championship was on display.
2015 Suzuki Gixxer Cup
In 2015, Suzuki had announced the Gixxer Cup, a one make bike racing series with a racing specced version of the 150cc Suzuki Gixxer SF production model. The winner of the inaugural season was Meka Vidhuraj.
Datsun
1970 Datsun Bluebird 1600 SSS East African Safari rally car
Edgar G. Herrmann (Kenya)
In 1970, Edgar G. Herrmann, a driver form Germany, drove this very Datsun 1600 SSS to victory in the 18th East African Safari rally which was a part of the International Championship for Manufacturers. The East African Safari rally was considered among the highest levels of rallying at its time as the World Rally Championship was only founded in 1973. In 1971, Herrmann also went on to win the rally with the Datsun 240Z.

Aprillia
2015 Aprillia RS-GP MotoGP Bike
Álvaro Bautista (Spain)
Aprillia had their MotoGP RS-GP bike at the Auto Expo 2016. The RS-GP was ridden by Spanish rider, Álvaro Bautista who finished 16th in the overall championship. His best finish of the season was 10th on two occasions in Catalnuya and the British round of the Motogp season.
