Mahindra XEV 9e, BE 6e Exterior, Interior Design Teased through Official Sketches
The Mahindra XEV 9e and the BE 6e are based on the modular born-EV INGLO platform, which offers two LFP battery options - 59kWh and 79kWh.
It is not unknown that Mahindra will unveil its two born-electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and the BE 6e, in less than a week. While the company is still not ready to give us a full rundown of the models, it has released design sketches that preview their design. The sketches show off the company's 'Heartcore Design' philosophy which the two SUVs embody. Mahindra says the design philosophy is about 'creating an emotional bond with our customers'.
The XEV 9e coupe SUV's design approach combines 'sophistication with dynamic styling', while the BE 6e is a performance-oriented SUV with an 'edgy, athletic silhouette and aerodynamic contours'. Sitting on Mahindra's new INGLO architecture and fitted with aggressively styled bumpers, the electric SUVs feature a futuristic front-end design, similar to the concepts they are based on. The XEV 9e's vertically oriented headlamps are mounted below a connected LED lightbar, while the BE 6e gets horizontally stacked projector headlamps outlined by C-shaped Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs).

Both EVs have a closed-off grille, flush-fitting door handles, dual-tone alloy wheels (with flared wheel arches), skid plates, and bold character lines. Wheels are expected to be 18-inch units. Unlike the XEV 9e, the BE 6e comes with a bonnet scoop. The latter wears a glowing BE logo as the name implies, while the former features an illuminated infinity logo. Though the rear end is not visible, we surmise that the vehicles will come with connected LED taillamps.
Mahindra XEV 9e, BE 6e: Interior
Inside, the Mahindra BE 6e boasts a cockpit-like, driver-focused cabin with dual displays, a large gear lever, and a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with a BE logo. Previous teasers have revealed a panoramic glass roof, electrically adjustable front seats, pillar-mounted headrests, and drive modes. Expected bits include ambient lighting, an aeroplane-type centre console, and wireless charging.
The Mahindra XEV 9e will likely get a triple-screen setup, a touch-based control panel, and a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with an illuminated logo. What can be seen is an armrest (with storage space) for the front-row occupants, ambient lighting, white upholstery, and the usage of premium materials. Plus, expect the vehicle to come with an electric parking brake, powered front seats, drive modes, six airbags (as standard), adaptive cruise control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and lane-keep assist.

Mahindra XEV 9e, BE 6e: Powertrain
The electric SUVs are confirmed to get two LFP (Lithium iron phosphate) batteries – 59kWh and 79kWh. The batteries can be charged from 20 to 80 per cent in 20 minutes, using a 175kW DC fast charger. The vehicles will be equipped with a three-in-one powertrain setup, integrating the motor, inverter, and transmission. The setup generates outputs between 228bhp and 282bhp for rear-wheel-drive (RWD) models. The BE 6e could be offered in both RWD and AWD guises.
