Kawasaki has filed patents for the Ninja 7 Hybrid and the Z e-1 motorcycles in India, hinting at their imminent release. These motorcycles have already been introduced to the international market. The Ninja 7 Hybrid has a 451cc parallel-twin engine, a 9kW electric motor, and a 48-volt battery pack with a power output of 58bhp. The e-boost mode increases this output to 69bhp. In terms of features, the hybrid motorbike comes equipped with three riding modes: EV, Eco Hybrid, and Sport Hybrid, and a full-colour TFT display. In contrast, the Z e-1 hybrid sports a 9kW motor and 1.5kWh of batteries. It comes with a boost mode that allows it to reach a maximum speed of 104km/h. The Z e-1 hybrid is equipped with several amenities such as LED illumination, stroll mode, ABS, TFT, smartphone connectivity, eco-boost, and two ride modes (road and eco).
Although Kawasaki hasn't made an official announcement, several industry reports indicate that there's a good chance at least one of these bikes will make it to the Indian roads. Globally, the Ninja 7 hybrid is priced at USD 12,499 (about Rs 10.34 lakh), while the Kawasaki Z e-1 retails for USD 7,299 (around Rs 6.07 lakh). If these models join our market in the future, it will be fascinating to see how the Japanese carmaker would price them here to gain market share.
